Duke study on grade configuration

Filed under: Uncategorized — Editor @ 11:58 am

The most recent (February 2007) and one of the most thorough studies on grade configuration came out of Duke University.  It has been posted on “Analysis-5th & 6th grade” under the Pages column on the right.  h/t Lois Buck

  1. Well it is nice to see it documented, but Duke’s conclusion is a no-brainer. Any observant parent or honest educator would easily reach the same conclusion.

Having pre-teen children regularly interacting with teenagers in an environment that is not fully controlled is an obvious problem. The fact that Chariho administration not only supports this risky configuration, but pretends the results are inconclusive, is proof positive that they care more about their work environment than the well being of our children.

Frankly, I’m tired of the excuses and the obfuscations. Come up with a reasonable plan to get our children back to elementary schools where they belong. Do it quick!
