A Pledge of Transparency

Filed under: bond — Editor @ 11:35 am

I have been getting a lot of emails asking about the ESP labor contract.  I assume that language has been finalized and the board will be asked to approve it on Tuesday.  After the language is accepted we would next vote to approve the contract.

I will try making a motion to table that second vote to allow the public time to see and analyse the contract before we spend the money.  After all, I would think that the people paying the bills have a right to give input before it is finalized.

  1. I had a small glimmer of hope that the reaction to the rejection of the bond would include acknowledgement of the need to be more open with the public. Sadly, our community leaders are only open about their anger and bitterness so far. What do you think the chances are that the School Committee will give a rat’s behind about public input? They know it all and what could we possibly have to offer? They may be right. We were dumb enough to vote for them.
