It is disappointing that Rep Kennedy would oppose legislation that would allow another option for parents and it is disappointing that he would also go against the town council and the voters with his support for the Chariho bond.  But it shouldn’t be surprising.  If you check donation records you will find that not only does he receive donations from the NEA but he has given money to Greg Kenney when he ran against Senator Breene.  Kenney is also the chair of the Chariho building committee.

  1. Also interesting to see who gives Mr. Kennedy money. Maybe I’m not searching correctly, but the only contributions I found…thousands of dollars…come Political Action Committees. One group very happy with Mr. Kennedy seem to be building trade groups. Is Mr. Kennedy supporting building bonds as pay back?

Quite a listing of political contributors. Teachers’ unions and other unions are big supporters of Mr. Kennedy. I wonder why they love him so? Health care companies like him a lot too. For a guy who runs unopposed quite often, he sure needs a lot of cash to campaign against nobody.

  2. Hi!
Brian and I chit chatted the other day. Nancy Richmond of Westerly, who works in Real Estate and who is a former Westerly GOP Town Chair, and currently one of the two Vice Chairs of the RI GOP is his GOP opponent. Nancy is also a former Westerly Town Council member. Nancy has my support in that race. I should point out I am Member and Secretary of the local Republican Representative District Committee.
What I find interest is the grapevine says that John Gilman, head of the HOPE PAC tried to recruit an opponent against Brian.Ronnie Kennedy Brian’s father was once head of HOPE! If this rumor is untrue, I hope the rumor is repudiated. If true Mr. Gilman’s effort was unsucessful!
    I am 55 today BTW!
    Regards,
    Scott
