HTC letter

From the town’s counsel:

  1. Here’s a cyber hug to the Hopkinton Town Council and our solicitor. Too often words are minced when dealing with the School Committee. There was no mincing here.

The Town Council through our solicitor did not have to characterize the behavior of the School Committee and its lawyer, but they did, and it was a bullseye. The ouster was nothing more than “infantile” and a blatant attempt to humiliate our representative who has fought so vigorously to improve Chariho for our children and our community. For once we are taking on the School Committee and Mr. Ricci full force for their malevolent actions. I am thrilled.

I look forward to Mr. Felkner taking back his seat. I look forward to the excellent oversight he provides. Perhaps a new day is dawning at Chariho. For the sake of our children, we can hope. Good job Hopkinton Town Council…you continue to do us proud. Hire another cop and I won’t say anything.

  2. When Mr. Felkner is given back his rightfully position on the School Committee, I hope his first agenda item is Mr. Anderson’s failure to provide adequate legal representation The man should be fired forthwith. How much is his office pulling in from this mess?

The second item should be a retraction of Mr. Ricci’s unfettered access to free legal advice (as poor as the advice is). Mr. Felkner warned us the power would be abused, and this is only he latest incident. Don’t forget the parents who have come under legal attack without School Committee approval.

Mr. Ricci’s access to a taxpayer funded lawyer should be approved by the full School Committee. While the current School Committee rubberstamps anything Mr. Ricci would like to do, perhaps this dynamic will change in the future. Better yet, while they’re firing Mr. Anderson, do us all a favor and add Mr. Ricci to the list.

  3. Hi!
The Rhode Island Bar Association , has under Public Info a Clients Statement, you want to look at.
As I understand it you don’t have to join the Rhode Island Bar Association if you are admitted to the Rhode Island Bar to practice law in Rhode Island.

  4. Hi all,
I’m out of town on business but will be with Bill in spirit tomorrow night. I had a chance to speak at the TC meeting. I commend the council for stepping up to the plate and defending Hopkintons rights to all our representatives! Good luck. I’ll have my fingers crossed the SC fixes what they broke.

  5. I didn’t see the Client Statement? Anyone else find it?

  6. We’ll need more then crossed fingers. Billy-boob, Baby Andy, and big fat Andy are probably a lock to remain committed to keeping Mr. Felkner from upsetting their apple cart. Mr. Vecchio, Ms. Carney, and Mr. Abbott will likely fight for Hopkinton’s representative. Ms. Serra abstained last time but has been firmly in the camp of the Chariho apologists heretofore. She doesn’t have to reverse course since she abstained last time. Ms. Eaves could be turned if she wants to differentiate her leadership from the bullying style of Billy-boob. Mr. Petit probably made a deal to obtain the Vice Chair position, but he shouldn’t let the Chair position stop him from turning back the clock. Who else from Hopkinton will the Chariho apologists support if not Mr. Petit. This is a freebie for him. He can do the right thing this time and then go back to being Mr. Ricci’s puppet. Ms. Cole voted the wrong way the first go round, but with contradictory legal opinions being available now, maybe she’ll see the light? I’m not optimistic but the meeting could be very informative as we try to determine if there is any hope for this current School Committee.

  7. Based on last night’s nonsense, the Chariho apologists have 7 votes locked up. There is no hope for change coming from within the Chariho system. Hopkinton Town Council needs to be working on a school choice plan now. Form a subcommittee and let’s get going. Our children need Hopkinton to step up to the plate as time is running out.
