If you support the moves to contain runaway contracts for school employees over in East Providence, please consider signing the RISC petition.

  4. I was at the State House this evening, and met a gentleman who is a member of the East Providence Taxpayers Association. It appears they intend to hold the line barring any court order disallowing their position. There was some talk of the EP situation and how it is being watched very closely. One would expect other towns to follow suit if EP SC is successful.

Will Chariho be one of them ?? Will we demand Chariho hold the line, or will it be business as usual ??

Bob Petit stated at tonights meeting, the Hopkinton residents he has spoken with are not supportive of BF efforts to remain on the SC. So will these same people also be happy with the status quo ?? Hmmm.

  5. Given that chariho’s current budget is not in deficit like EP’s is, the chariho committee can’t take the same action (emergency pay cuts) as the EP committee did, but they can (must!) hold the line in the upcoming contract negotiations.

And it would be nice if they would go on record as supporting EP’s taxpayer advocacy efforts.

  6. Fat chance of this current School Committee holding the line at anything which might make them unwelcome guests at there next family party. They are a joke, and any townspeople complaining about Mr. Felkner holding two seats, while not saying a word about all the family and friend connections to School Committee members is a joke too.

I’m sure Mr. Petit surrounds himself with like-minded people. Who would disagree with him? As we’ve seen here, he has difficulty telling the truth, and when he is called out on it, he runs away. Maybe Mr. Petit isn’t hearing any objections to his actions because he won’t tolerate objections?

  7. I’m sure if truth be known, BP has really only talked to people, the odds of him “listening” are very slim.
