Chariho School Parents’ Forum

Success!

The court has denied Chariho’s petition to dismiss and expeditiously set a hearing for March 9th.

One request that we had to consolidate the petition was denied. Considering everything else is so positive we think this too will probably come out positive and there could be no reason to consolodate – especially for the issue of whether or not the Superior Court has jurisdiction.  Because, if the Supreme Court decides that a town or school committee can’t dismiss members unless it is written into their Act or Charter, then deciding on Supreme Court jurisdiction would become moot. Thus no reason to look at it and thus no reason to consolidatewith the rest.

All in all, a great day.  Thank you all for the support. We will see what March 9 brings – but at least we know that the court thinks its worthy of more discussion than Chariho required to act.

Mr. hirst I heard that you had a ruling against the school committee years ago which you won and they got a slap on the wrist and now back at it again. Can you list the case when you get a chance?

  3. Don’t take offense Mr. Felkner but a great day for the taxpayers as well who are required to follow the law as well as you. This high and almighty crowd should be embarrassed, they make me sick.

I hope you win big and Chariho pays. I’ve only been around a short time but long enough not to be duped by the all the children all the time nonsense. I’m not so blindly lead. It’s not about the kids and that makes me more sick than what they’ve done to you and that is plenty sir. I apologize for that Mr. Felkner.

Good Luck, Mr. Felkner and may the sun shine on you and all the children of chariho that you’ve worked hard for and from what I hear Mr. Abbott as well.I doubt know the man just have heard many good things. I would like choice to, hopefully it comes while my kids still have a chance. I’m new to Ms. Carney but I hear she is good too.
