Lois and DMA point out that pensions are paid 50% after 20 yrs and 75% after 30. with 9% contribution rate.  Anyone want to do the spreadsheet and send it to me to post?  I think I used 8% contribution rate from the emplyee.

I’m in PA but if not can do when I return.

Although, we still know the costs are considerably more than if it were a defined contribution plan not a defined benefit plan.  Why do we treat our public sector workers so much better than the rest of us?

 Did the contract get ratified?

DId they roll longevity into the salaries (creating another compound but saving us $ in the mid years)?

And is there anyone out there who gets health insurance from their employer after they retire?

  1. “And is there anyone out there who gets health insurance from their employer after they retire?”

Answer: I’m still trying to find soemone(besides public sector employees) who collects a retirement when they retire @ 45 yrs of age after 20 yrs service as opposed to waiting until normal retirement age to collect.

  2. I’ve been listening to European radio to get the vibe on other benefits.

Public Sectors is almost 3 to 1 (Public v Private) which is also bankrupting Euro Cities and Towns, etc. Its about 30% contribution to public sector pensions while the private sector is 11% mostly self funded/before taxes. Public Pensions is 1.4 million for each employee, while private (mostly self funded) is $350,000 to $400,000.

To Hopkinton, your done. You can sort that out on your own. Chariho and your municipality want you out and the New Yorkers and New Jerseyites in.

    Somebody’s going to pay!

Boy (Bill) Felkner is all over this up and down, east and west and whether you like him or not, he has and is the goods.

I won’t genu flect but a site worth supporting. Hopefully if the tri towns kick in $5000 each for information that they can’t or won’t gather lack of personnel (at the Town Halls) due to the monies going to the inept Chariho, a great site.

    Hey Bill, thanks!

  3. Same here. Fight to the end Hoptown TC. The judges are corrupt too so maybe the police will end up innoncent even if a dumb person like me can see they are guilty as sin! Forget contracts. If we didn’t have 14 more cops than we need in little old Hoptown than we could pay the remaining two $200,000 a year and we’d still be beter off! More crime behind the doors of the HPD than on the streets of Hoptown. They used the cocmputer illegaly a felony. Nobody is investigating who used the computers? Why not? No body denies it right? They’ll investigate a normal person all day but if its the cops they don’t care. Throw the Sun into the the mix too. They were in on it with the cops. Crazy to expect them to report the truth when they are protecting themselves!
